In May I will be taking part in the Youth Futures Pipeline Challenge Mountain Biking 600km from Kalgoorlie to Perth, WA along with my son, Dylan, and niece Abbey. Youth Futures have been raising money for 30 years to help WA youth and are organising this event for youths who are doing it tough and need a helping hand. As a relatively new rider this will be my first Pipeline Challenge and I will be approaching it with some excitement and nervousness but expect the experience to be fulfilling and rewarding and a great opportunity to do something worthwhile alongside some of my family. I just hope my legs can get me across the line!
It’s a long way from the Tassie Trails to the WA outback but I am looking forward to meeting other riders from all over the country and enjoy the challenge.
The Pipeline Challenge is an epic five day ride bringing together mountain bikers in support of young mums escaping homelessness and domestic violence.
Over five gruelling days riders will trace the golden pipeline from Kalgoorlie to Mundaring, camping each night along the way. To find out more visit pipelinechallenge.com.au
